Access Denied to Recovered File Folder

  1. Windows would not start - indicated missing files, etc. XP gave two options - one of which was to reinstall Windows and save files. (This is a problem I am trying to assist my son with who is in the Navy) He took that option and after reinstalling Windows he has a folder available to him titled Recovered. However, when he tries to go into the folder he gets the "Access Denied" message. He has several video files, directories, his music files, etc. contact information for friends, etc. supposedly in this folder. Any help that I can pass his way would be very appreciated.
