Access denied when trying to recover files

  1. AlbertLionheart TechSpot Chancellor

    I have a laptop hard drive on which are some files to retrieve. The laptop is stone dead. OS was XP Pro SPII
    The drive is connected to a desktop machine and all files are accessible except the users files in the my documents folder.
    I have tried to unlock the folder's contents but get a message which shows the path and 'Access denied'
    Anyone any ideas?
