Acer Aspire 5720 gives black screen after POST

hi , my first time doing this , havnt got a clue !! i have a acer aspire 5720 and when i turn it on i get a screen and all it says it press f 2 go to set up i go there but still doesnt come on , just black screen after that !

The hard drive may be bad

depending on the type of gpu it may be a heat problem, a memory problem or a gpu problem. computers generally wont post if there is no, or bad memory installed. the harddrive will not cause it not go to into post, but the gpu will. you should post more info on what type of hardware you have in your computer.
