Acer Aspire won't turn on...

    Hi, I have an acer aspire laptop that won't turn on. It was working fine unplugged and I went out leaving it on but unplugged to mains power. When I got back I plugged utility in and tried to wake it up. Now I have it plugged in and the power adapter has a green light and the battery light on the laptop is amber. When I press the power button, both these lights go off. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried removing all power and holding the power switch for 39-45 seconds. Then plugging back in without battery and turning on- that doesn't work! Please help.

    Did you remove the battery when pressing the power button for 45 seconds?
