Acer, Asus hold off on new netbooks until 2010

  1. It looks like two of the biggest netbook manufacturers, Asus and Acer, are going to shift focus a bit in the latter half of this year according to DigiTimes. The site quotes “industry sources” who claim that, since Intel has pushed back its Pine Trail platform to early 2010, both companies will suspend development of new netbooks until then. In the meantime, the Taiwanese firms will instead concentrate on their respective CULV-based lineups.
