  1. Hi, I'm new here and glad to have found the site. Hope someone can help. I'm in need of adding a second monitor (I already have it). I checked with the manufactuer of my system and was told that my video card supports a second monitor, all I had to do was purchase a DVI to VGA adapter. Is there anything else that I need besides this cable, if yes how great is the cost? And as for the adapter, how do I know which one to buy?
    with thanks

    Hello! Welcome to TechSpot

It is only an adapter about 2 in. long, that is unless
the second monitor is a digital.
Radio shack has em for about $24.00usd.
What kind of video card does your system have?

Follow this Link for a good pic. Top image is the one.

Thanks for your help. After some considerable thought I think I'm going to go another route. Hopefully its the right one. I work with several programs at the same time-thus my reason for a second monitor. But I've been wanting to purchase an LCD monitor 19". Maybe that's my answer and excuse for shopping!
