Adding new items

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this... I had XP Pro, and I want to add new memory, a new monitor and a new mouse. My question is: do i need to uninstall any items first? Thanks.

should be no trouble. Just be sure to unplug your computer before installing the ram/memory and clear yourself of any static charge before touching any components on your computer and the ram. for the monitor and mouse, shut down your computer, connect the new devices, start up your computer, and let windows find your new devices. If you have any errors try installing drivers that came with your monitor and mouse.

thanks for the advice eroz, and I have another question: do I put both GiG of memory in slot one or each in a separate slot?

Not sure what you mean? Only one stick of ram can fit in a slot. Is your ram dual channel? If so then one stick in slot 1 and the other in slot 3 or one in slot 2 and the other in slot 4.
