Additional RAM

Please help. I recently installed an additional 512Mb of ram to my pc. I had 2 x 512Mb installed previously. in slots 1 & 2 and installed the new ram in slot 3. The pc still only says that there is 1024 of ram installed, although when i run pc wizzard it shows all 3 sicks of ram and gives the details of the ram as well. i have tried fitting a single ram in each of the slots 1, 2 & 3 and re-booted each time and carried this out on all sticks, prooving the ram and slots are ok. I then tried a combination of 2 sticks, with a stick in slot 1 & 2 the systems shows 1024Mb, with a stick in slot 1 & 3 the system shows 1024Mb but with a stick in slot 2 & 3 the system shows 512Mb.
The spec on the motherboard says that it can handle up to 3Gb of ram. I am hoping that this is a case of updating software / drivers etc. to allow the system to recognize all of the ram, but not sure how to proceed, and would appriciate any help you can offer.

The system details are as follows:

How much RAM is detected in the BIOS/on POST?

*Edit*

It's rare that I bash on companies, really, but of all the motherboard companies I've come across, FIC is probably one of the worst. I've had nothing but poor experiences with their boards in the past and I don't believe it is an uncommon opinion. I'm not saying your trouble is due to their incompetence, however, I wouldn't rule it out either.

*Edit*

Just so you know, you've got a BIOS update :D.

Enter the BIOS and it ought to be right on the first/main page as far as I know.

Try booting your system with only the new RAM installed and see if it detects it.

Also, I assume both of your old modules are DDR SDRAM 133MHz, what are the new RAM's specifications?

Ram

The ram detected by the system is 1024Mb, 2 sticks. the ram detected by pc wizzard is 1536Mb 3 sticks. as in the detailed report above.
The ram specification is identical in all 3 sticks as detailed above.
The new ram on its own is detected with no problems.

Okay, and with all three sticks installed, what does your BIOS report?

I'm not sure what you mean by:
as in the detailed report above
.

In the report above I only see two modules:

RAM

General Information :
A0 (RAS 1) : 512 (Single Bank)
A1 (RAS 2) : 512 (Single Bank)
A2 : Empty

*Edit*

Just so you know (not that you're being limited in this case, but for the future), you stated that your motherboard supports 3GB of RAM and according to it's manual it only supports 2GB.

Accepts up to 2 GB DDR SDRAM using thiree memory sockets for allowing that from 64, 128, 256, 512MB with support for lightenning-fast PC-2100 DDR SDRAM (266 MHz).

Yep, those spelling errors were in the .pdf manual the company provides haha.

with all 3 sticks installed is shows 1024.

It says that A2 is empty, but the pc wizzard goes on to show the details of all 3 sticks

You keep suggesting that "it" shows that there is only 1024MB installed. What is "it" and have you check the BIOS to see what it reads yet?

BIOS shows 1024
Sorry, "it" is the report from pc wizzard that says A2 is empty but then shows the details for the ram that is acually in A2
