I want to upgrade my monitor from my current 17" to 22" up to possibly 24"; this will be for gaming as well as the standard Office work and research, and online work research and surfing. My system is used for both personal and professional.

I would like your opinion on the following as possibilities. With NewEggs's Black Friday specials I want to take advantage because they end 11/29. If you have any other solid selections it will be most appreciated. Thanks.

Can't say I've tried any of those listed above, but I have the LG W2486L - it's a bit more expensive but it's LED backlit, has very good colours, 2ms response, very thin, looks a lot better than standard monitors and is 1920x1080 (which is useful for me because I duplicate the monitor with my HDTV). The viewing angles are average for a TN panel. Hope that helps

Just checked the monitors there. You're right about the fact that I don't understand much about monitors. But I liked this SAMSUNG 2494HM Glossy Black 24".

So did red1776. And so did I so I went ahead and ordered it. Good thing I did too because I just got under the wire last night and as of today they are sold out. I'll let you know how it turns out after Christmas because my wife has bought it and I don't get it until the 25th. But, hey, at least I know I'll like it! :grinthumb
