After connecting two wireless routers..

Hello!

Bear with me here... I am a rookie in the networking business but I read through many threads and helpful "manuals"; however I have a bit of a specific question which I could not find anywhere...

After setting up my old US Robotics USR5463 router as an access point (DHCP off, static IP, used WSD) to be able to extend the wireless network (main router D Link Dir 655) I came across a problem of connecting another device to the "access point". My question is: Is it possible to connect via cable a device to the router number two after convrting it to an access point?

I hope the question is understandable... :) :)
Any and all help appreciated,
Regards,
Vlada

I assume you are attempting something like this
Code:
modem==router#1-----cable-connected---A/P - - - wifi users
The wire from router#1 should be connected to any LAN port on the A/P, leaving its WAN port empty
