I know I haven't been posting too much. Trust me, it's not because of the contest, rather because track practice is becoming a later and later occurence, and I'm often too tired from the workouts we do to get any web surfing in. Most of the time I just hang out in IRC, and mainly get ready for the next day...
Track's over after state, and it's in a couple weeks, so after that I'll be back up just fine :)

P.S.- Julio, update your sig man! It still says 3DSpotlight :p

Here's an idea. What if for every game tweak guide that came out, there would be a mini contest ( during a week or even less ) where you could win a copy of the game.

You could finish the tweak guide by "Your gaming experience should now be greatly improved with better visuals, audio & hopefully minimal performance loss. Now enter the forums and get a chance to win a copy of the game !!!"

this is a great idea!!!! :grinthumb :grinthumb

but how to win the game in the forum?

Why would random vistors read a game tweak guide if they don't already own the game....?

I've had that thought after posting it. Let's say it would be a way to celebrate the release of a new tweak guide. Other sites could link to it.

It might get people to stick around too. If every two month there's a game to win during one week, it could increase visits in a long term way.

Or how about giving away HS/F's, Thermal Compound, Modems, Gfx Cards, Sound Cards That you review. How about one per month?

Can't beleave more of you aren't bothered by the forums dropoff. This is a good site with a ton of useful info and it shouldn't have to do a bunch of giveaways to draw to the forums. Trying to get "newbies" and making them feel welcome is my idea of a start. All your tweak guides zero right in on this crowd and with a little nudge they might jump right in. This is just my opinion and might not amount to much, but an idea.

I don't think anyone here has been bothered with the drop of posts numbers, what I think we were discussing are ways to attract TS visitors to the forums.

Like I said before, over 15,000 unique visitors come by TS daily so if we could have, say 5% of them, as regular forum visitors too then we would have a bigger forum that would also end up being a better resource for info and discussion.

Obviously, bigger doesn't equal to better, but when we are talking of mature forum members, then it is better...

Well, I'm 52 years old so I think I fit the mature part anyway. Just trying to offer ideas:confused:

I'm glad more new people is coming and staying. Actually I have this function in vB that lets me see how many users register each day, etc... simple but very useful stats.

Right now we are getting 2-6 new registered users each day, while the contest lasted those numbers were up to 10-20 a day, but I guess better growing on a slow pace but growing strong, building up the community with people that are willing to stay and be helpful. I'm well satisfied how things are running at this moment, really :approve:
