AGP tab snapped...

While trying to fix my video card with a busted heatsink (a task which proved to be futile) the small lever on the side of the AGP slot snapped off.

This lever holds the card in place, right? So, I was wondering:

I need to replace my video card, but is it going to be useless to do so? Is my AGP slot busted, or does just slipping the card in and screwing it in place keep it aligned enough?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, the lever thing is a helper. If the vid card aligns well enough with the case and the mobo, then you don't need it.

I have had to unscrew the metal thing from the vid card and insert some washers to make it align with the case..
