Ok, this has me stumped and I am completely lost so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I know a good amount about pc's etc.. but I haven't encountered this before. Earlier my sound was working fine, then I was off it for a few hours and it went into sleep mode. I got back on and now all my sound has a horrible static to it. the static usually drowns out any recognition of what the sound actually is. I've updated my driver, I've rolled back my driver, uninstalled driver, reinstalled it. Tried an older version, I've reconnected all cables, checked for dust in my pc, tested it out with a pair of headphones (same static problem). It's definatly something with the pc. it's onboard sound.
Asus M2nE-SLI mobo
C-Media CM6501 sound
Vista x64
6gigs of ram
can't think of anything that would effect this other than my onboard sound died on me, but any light anyone can shed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
