Alphabet chairman Eric Schmidt warns that Trump's administration will do "evil things"

You are certainly partly correct, but see the following:

Martial law is the imposition of the highest-ranking military officer as the military governor or as the head of the government, thus removing all power from the previous executive, judicial branches of government.[1] It is usually imposed temporarily when the government or civilian authorities fail to function effectively (e.g., maintain order and security, or provide essential services).

Martial law can be used by governments to enforce their rule over the public. Such incidents may occur after a coup d'état (such as Thailand in 2006 and 2014); when threatened by popular protest (China, Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, 2009's Iranian Green Movement that led to take over by Revolutionary Guards); to suppress political opposition (Poland in 1981); or to stabilize insurrections or perceived insurrections (Canada, The October Crisis of 1970). Martial law may be declared in cases of major natural disasters; however, most countries use a different legal construct, such as a state of emergency.
A better, and much more precise definition. Good research, but it is still "martial", as opposed to "marshal" law. Maybe I was being too hard on the guy.

Besides this being another silly political article from the unqualified Thubron, this caught my attention:

Schmidt said that in addition to the “evil things” it has planned, the main goal of Trump’s administration is economic growth.

"...the core focus is going to be to get the growth rate in the country — which is roughly one-and-a-half to two percent — up another point by simply pushing through increases in federal spending and overcoming the tea party."

Tea Party? WTH have they got to do with this? Was this a Freudian slip or something...because it has no meaning in his sentence?

In this desperately sick society increasingly ruled over by multinational corporations whose only thought is 'money/power über alles' who seem devoid of any social conscience or concern for community, my first thought is that they (Google included) have already done "many evil things"
Such as?

I'm almost too embarrassed to ask, but other than the famous thing in Boston back in the 18th century, what is the tea party, and where does it lie on the current political spectrum? Please consider that the spectrum has shifted, with our current President considered by some to be somewhere right of the Kim dynasty in North Korea.

Funny how when the "DEMs" don't get their way, they are hateful and furious at Donald Trump.

The hypocrisy continues!

Do You Know Someone Suffering From Trump Unacceptance & Resistance Disorder ?

Trump
Unacceptance
Resistance
Disorder

TURD is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time.Sufferers of TURD often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, rioting, and uncontrollable crying.

People with TURD are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again.

TURD Is caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For many, both in America and worldwide, this was a shocking and unexpected outcome; their preferred news sources having failed to inform them that the alternative candidate was a criminal parasite.Research is ongoing, but TURD appears to correlate closely with some of the following environmental and behavioral factors:* Membership in the Democratic Party* Identifying as a Feminist* Currently enrolled in college, and/or Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree* Living in a densely populated metropolitan area* Massive student debt* Spotty or non-existent work history

Patients with TURD are very resistant to treatment, and dangerous in large groups. Any possibility of treatment requires that they be separated from their hive-mind support apparatus; they cannot begin the process of accepting reality in the presence of encouragement towards delusion and irrationality.

Separation may require the assistance of law enforcement. If you have a friend or loved one suffering from TURD, urge them to seek treatment. Together we can beat this scourge, and Make America Great Again.

"Marshal Law"? Your attention was obviously focused elsewhere in history class, as was mine. Marshals have nothing to do with the military being used to enforce the law. Perhaps you meant that U.S. Marshals would be enforcing the law? They already do that, along with a number of other things, but they aren't part of the military as I can only guess that you were implying when you talked about the WWII Axis Powers (that is, The Tripartite Pact which included Germany, Italy, and Japan). "A few more countries" that were, albeit not always willingly, allied or associated with the Axis Powers were Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, and Thailand, while Finland and Iraq were considered co-belligerents. You can throw Vichy France in there someplace, too. My only point in mentioning the Axis at all is to point out that what happened during and after WWII was more complicated than what happened in just Government of Month Club member Italy.

What drew my attention to your post was the Marshal Law thing. When a government uses its army to supplant civil authority for enforcement of the law it is call "martial law", just as when a person is tried by the military it is a "court martial". Marshal Dillion, martial arts, Marshall Islands. No wonder people don't understand us.

Some countries are only successful under martial law when their democratic institutions are weak and the public unprepared for democracy, like Pakistan and many other 3rd world countries. It seems US despite being a first world country, is on track to join the rank through its own form of undemocratic-like behaviour of its new government.

I suppose you're right, but it seems that the other side is just as hypocritical. If you are really interested in watching truly sanctimonious hypocrisy look to the pros – the University of California at Berkley.

I have a political cartoon in my political cartoon subdirectory and now I don't know where I got it to link it here. It says:

Have you heard about the Tea Party Conspiracy?
They want to take over,
Stop stealing our money,
Restore our liberty,
then leave everybody the hell alone.

Increases in federal spending have been blocked as much as possible by those conservative politicians who see the Tea Party members (conscripted by Republicans) as backing them. (I think Paul Ryan is one fo them) That is why there is a comment about 'overcoming' them.

This question, unfortunately, shows the power Obama, Dems, Republican party, and the IRS wielded to snuff out a viable third party entry into national politics. No one even remembers what they stood for (aside from the 'bigots' and 'klan members' etc. they were called...sound familiar)

If you want to see irony at work, think who would be in the White House now if the 'establishment' had not done that and the press had not helped them because the press wanted Hillary in. Hillary would still not have won because, well Hillary. Trump would not have won because there would have been a thoughtful choice for Dems and Republicans. Gotta love people shooting themselves in the foot.

Makes me smile anyway.
