  2. I think back to the good old days of computing when everyone has happy to have AMD to compete against Intel and provide lower cost processors. Not it seems AMD is a shell of themselfs and really just the ATI side that is keeping them afloat. AMD just seems to be fading away....
  3. While my current (and likely next) build is Intel, AMD has been very good to me in the past. I still use it for budget builds for friends and family. I certainly hope AMD doesn't fade away -- I don't want to go back to the bad old days of paying Intel $1,000 for an ordinary CPU. Some folks may not like or want AMD, but thank God there IS an AMD.
  4. What might be a good fit? An out right purchase from Nvidia. With a market cap of almost double, they should be able to swing the financing if they dont have the cash. Spin off the graphics to someone else and concentrate on the x86. Nvidia is an aggressive company, I personally would love to see how they would fare against chipzilla in that market.

    Well this idea is poor at best, if all pundits are right about the death of the desktop.
  5. I think their x86 licence is non-transferable, so if they get bought they cannot make x86 chips anyway.
