AMD...stick a fork in it?

On the eve of another less than stellar financial quarter, where AMD is taking a $100M write-down on inventory (likely mostly excess Llano stock) and posting a loss estimated at $120M+, comes news of the long rumoured second round of job cuts.
What was originally though to be a 5-10% trimming of the workforce now seems to be in the order of 20-30%, with engineering -including the well performing graphics division- particularly hard hit. Numerous sites are now estimating that a large part of AMD's future products could have their design outsourced to third parties.

No doubt the board of directors will be picking up hefty bonuses for reducing labour charges.
