Annoying clicking noise

Hi,

after installing new hardware some weeks ago my computer make a clicking noise when i click on "start" or desktop items.

I cant find where to turn it off any ideas?

spoke to soon its still doing it i got it to stop when i clicked the start button but its still there when clicking on folders, i went through the control panel>sounds and audio>sounds but cant find an option to turn it off there.

any help plz

Could be the 'start navigation' sound, set that to none, or just turn all sounds off.

Just to be clear, this is a sound coming from the speakers right? (as opposed to the computer itself)

yes from speakers.

still no luck where i can find to turn it off... i tried turning off start navigation but it turns itself back on..
