Computer randomly freezes and i have to reboot (reset). on average 15 minutes after startup (a guess)

I am running an asrock MB with AMD cpu 2700+. 2 bargain basement sticks of 512mb DDR 400 ram. 3 small HD's, ATI 256MB VC, Creative 64bit sound.

started my trouble shooting efforts with ram, pulled one stick and time to freeze up increased to maybe 45min-60min

pulled second stick with same result.

Could both sticks be toast?

Dicussion is welcome.

thank you for help.

Mike

Possibly your RAM could be "toast" as you say normally the freezing would be Hardware issues, start off by running Memtest86 to test your RAM.

Memtest86 Instructions
Download the pre-built version of Memtest86 (Link Below) and burn it onto a CD using ISO Recorder (Link Below) other ISO burning software will work as well (E.g. Nero). After this boot off the CD and start the test going and let it run for 3-5 hours (Minimum of 7 Passes) or Overnight which is best.
