It's military personel like you that keep the United States together (thank you); I'll never stop thanking people in the armed forces just to let you know

My life is balanced between my education, friends, and the big box for me. I need to spend more time on my schoolwork and less time on the computer if you get my drift. Although, I seem to accelerate in languages in my school (Ha tomado dos anos de espanol y estoy en mi tercero ano, also...Я знаю Русский). I tend to get home from school, turn on my computer, and before you know it, I'm turning it off and going to bed. On the weekends, I do more than this, and actually go out. I think it's time for a balancing of my schedule ;)

Nice Cfitzarl. But "ano", in Spanish is something like @ss :haha: Well, I guess you don't have the "Ñ" on your keyboard :)

:grinthumb I forgot about that word, I would've changed my keyboard over :)

    EDIT:

Can anyone read the second language I wrote in; Я знаю Русский? Just wondering.

I think someone should start a thread " The definition of Cool". Just because you're a computer geek doesn't mean your not cool. I , personally, look up to you guys because of your knowledge. I doesn't matter who you hang with or how you dress. I wear jeans+t-shirts, have long hair, work construction, play in a band, have a family, and drink too much and I think you all are cool because you know more than I when it comes to PC's. What is cool?

    What's your story,Mictlantecuhtli?

"I know Russian"? Or "You know Russian?" That's Russian all right, but I'm not too sure about t3h first letter there.

@OP: Pfwahahamwahahawa! You guys crack me up. "Cool", umm... yeah. You peoples' definition of cool.... well, ain't cool. Anyone can be cool... well, atleast in their own way.

I'm cool for being the math+science+computers (more on the software side than hardware side, but hardware side too) man at school. Nobody doesn't not un-know me.

Well, this is all very interesting... being black as I am, I am mostly a lame, i.e., I don't party, touch other girls' asses, etc..

What does being black have to do with anything
  10. smore9648 Newcomer, in training Posts: 757

I think only teenagers and or metro-sexuals are the ones concerned about being cool and being overly concerned on what people think:)

Niet. I can read *most* russian stuff because it's close to bulgarian, but I can't say I "know" russian =).

I like to go out for walks with my girlfriend and my 2 year old daughter, I like to scuba dive, movies, drink, etc etc. I don't sit in front of the shiny box, but wait I do from 9am-5:30pm as I take calls all day! :)

I agree with Smore 9648, what does being black have to do with anything.
Also , to Smore9648, what is a "METRO-SEXUAL". And how do I get the quotes from oyher posts into my messege?
  14. howard_hopkinso Newcomer, in training Posts: 25,949   +16

You could simply click on the Quote button, in the post you wish to quote. This would quote the entire post. You could then edit it to leave just the bit you want.

Another way is to copy and paste the text you want from a post and paste it into your own post. Then, highlight the text and click on the Wrap

    Well lets see,

at school is where I get most of my "Socialism" in. I am friends with everyone

The preps, the skaters, the emmos, the drugers, and the "FUNS".

I am friends with just about everyone at school. But that is really where I get most of my socialism in nobody would ever know that I'm a computer geek. I guess I just don't express that part of myself.

I lesson to all the stuff the kids these days lessen to such as rap, hip hope, r&b, but it doesn't mean I couldn't go for some light alternative like snow patrol "chasing cars".

A metro-sexual is not a sexuality. Its when a guy, not a real man, takes more time to get ready to go out then your girlfriend or wife does. They get their nails and toes done, like the girls do.

Brad pitt and tom cruise are prime examples of metro-sexual. Like I said before its not a sexuality preference but more like a sexuality confliction, IMO.

I listen to everything but prefer heavy metaL/rock over all.

I classify computer people in two categories, those who use them but really don't know what the hell they are doing (Non-geek/nerd) and those who what the hell they are doing but don't know everything (These are the geeks.IMO)

Thanks Howard with the"how to tips" ( you must have your machine set on alert mode)
Thanks for the definition Smore9648, and I also prefer metal and hard rock.
To Crossfire851, what are "Emmos" and the "Funs".The names have changed since i was in school.

Also what does IMO stand for? Is there a dictionary online of all these abbreviations used in todays messages?
  19. howard_hopkinso Newcomer, in training Posts: 25,949   +16

    IMO=in my opinion

Take a look at this online slang dictionary HERE.

    Regards Howard :)

Emmos, I think but don't care, are people who basically dress in black, cry about how the world does not understand them and like to cut themselves to get attention. And they have a funky looking hair do and they don't smile, wow what a life.

Funs. I have no clue but I am guessing the are girls who don't say no to anyone
