I am not cool. I go to school for 5 hours a day and then come home and go on the computer and play games and go online. I never go to parties. I love going to movies and hiring them but i am most definitely not cool. I love this site and surfing the forums, I have learnt so much and you guys are all like my extended family. At my school I am known for being a "Nerd" Dont be mean to nerds, chances are you will end up working for one.

dont be so harsh on yourself alvdy, it doesnt matter, and you seem young, dont worry youll soon be off to college or work where theres plenty of @$$.

as for me, ehh, im kinda retarded, in not that short bus way as im really just me, i know everyone is different but im all over the place at all times, and i think my main drive besides avoiding work and responsibility as much as possible is being as easy going as possible that and not caring in that zen sort of way (i think i have it right, im Catholic so i have no idea what im saying) but, dont let things bother you, and dont bother others. you know?

Wow...I didn't know a thread would last this long.. You know alvdy, he's right. Sometimes, I think to myself, "Why do I do this stuff? I'm never going to be anything anyway." But somehow, that thought gets repressed, and I go through my day, trying to be as calm as possible.

    Seriously...

I'm actually an interesting combination of a book geek and a tech geek. I'm still trying to feel out what I want to settle into for a career... right now I'm leaning towards teaching English and trying to teach some computers on the side (or do some tech support to supplement the income), but I've had a couple folks recommend that I check out technical writing.

Anyways, I guess I say that to say that yeah, I do stuff besides sit in front of my computer... but in the decade and a half that I've been into technology, I've found that if there's one thing I regret through my schooling, it's the times I was subconsciously ashamed of my tendency toward computer geekdom. If I had given it more free reign in the kinds of things I studied as an undergrad, I have a feeling I'd be feeling a whole lot more settled career-wise...

Life is good, though. I've managed to get through everything with a good group of friends, many of whom are into the same stuff I am (computers, sci-fi/fantasy books, even tabletop gaming) while still being social and well-adjusted. I guess if I'm stressed about anything, it's finding a job that'll be able to fund my lust for the latest technology, and not bore the heck out of me. But aren't we all? :)
