Anyone able to recommend a free backup solution?

  1. Can anyone recommend a free software package to backup files to CD/DVD and which has an incremental option? Preferably something you have used yourself!
    Much appreciated if anyone can help?

    The following freeware (for private use) is recommended by the German computer mag PC-WELT for creating drive, partition, etc images, like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost. However. It will do what you want, but I have not used it myself.

    As you will know, the best medium for substantial backups is not a CD or DVD but an external HDD. The above utility is suited well for all these backups.
