App Store hits 10 billion downloads, winner hangs up on Apple

  1. Apple has announced that more than 10 billion apps have been downloaded from its App Store by the 160 million iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users worldwide. Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, UK won the App Store Countdown to 10 Billion Apps contest by downloading an app called Paper Glider.

    Wow, that's almost one and a half apps for everyone on planet earth.
  3. It would have been funny if the app downloaded was one of those useless fart or sex position apps would be the 10 billion downloaded app.

    I'm not sure how she could even spend $10k in the iTunes store... all the apps are like 59p/99c anyway

    I probably would have hang up on Apple as well. I don't mean to nitpick but she could have smiled she was just given a $10,000 gift card
