Itunes 10.5 update and iOS 5 install on my ipod touch 4th gen has been a major fail. Backups completely hang and there is a new "apsdaemon.exe" process (probably connected with icloud) that is completely taking up one of my cores (no memory changes just 50% processor usage on a dual core machine). This happened with the last major iOS update as well for me which completely wiped my ipod and itunes libraries.

Apple complains about flash causing crashes on their systems. Well Itunes is by far the worst offender on my computer. Crashes at least once a day! Not happy apple.

Perhaps as a rebuttal to all the iSheep posts about how Apple innovates and everyone else copies. Clearly other companies can come up with their own, better ideas that even the geniuses at Apple have to acknowledge are superior to their own as they have incorporated them into their perfect OS, and got rid of their prior perfect version. Does this answer your question?

Now you don't need another computer to own an iPad.

In case you didn't know, it was taken down because Siri is now part of the operating system in the 4S, unlike before, which was just an app. It is interpolatively connected with other parts of the system, hence why it is so demanding, especially if it's meant to be constantly running. Please recall Siri is a supposed personal assistant, it reminds you when you step in or out of a geofence, and reminds of you calendar tasks and appointments... all by voice.

Believe me, I'm no Apple fanboy, but I know about software. If Siri works as well, and as integrated as advertised, then have no doubt it would at least require a dual-core setup to perform smoothly.

Playing catch up is kind of what Apple does, especially when they release iOS updates once a year. Google doesn't quite steal the media's attention with the frequent and steady updates, but they keep their product fresh.

If Apple is playing catch up to Android/webOS/WP7 then okay it's playing catch up, but remember they were catching up to the original iPhone until a couple years ago.

    Thank god for competition!

I don't believe anything good about apple anymore. Throughout the research I did, I realized apple anchored its base in sand. I already knew this when I saw advertisements about front camera this and that as if its their own innovation. Anyone grow up in Asia? Korea japan? Seriously, Americans are so deprived to think apple iPhones actually were first. Lol...grandmas and grandpas are video chatting with their grandchildren from their basic flip phones, apple is a bunch of BS
