Applications can't connect to internet except firefox

Help! i've searched around for a long time now but can't find any similar problem...

My problem is Applications except Firefox can't connect to the internet... Applications like Yahoo Messenger, Internet Explorer and the rest can't connect but Firefox can!

please help... =(

What do you mean by "connect"?
With all browsers such as Firefox, IE 7, Safari, and Opera, it all has to do with your settings. If nothing works. Remove your current install, then reinstall to default... after you have removed the old stuff from your registry.

It sounds like your firewall is blocking them.

Go into program control and check that out.

That sounds like a firewall problem, did you recently install a new firewall program or something. What ever your firewall is you need to check the rules or exceptions and see what it allows and blocks.
