Perhaps a stupid question, but chalk it up to learning....

Are there drivers for CPUs? I have the Athlon64 3700 (San Diego).

Do I need to install AMD drivers for the CPU or are the standard WindowsXP drivers fine as they are?

I thought drivers are for teaching the CPU how to work with different hardwares. Is it correct??

the BIOS can be CPU specific, but as the CPU gets started long before drivers are loaded, there are no 'cpu drivers' per se

Well, I have the Asus Cool n' quiet software installed. If I don't instal the Athlon64 processor driver, does that mean that cool n' quiet is not working?
