Are They Compatable?

Hello,

I'm not a novice to replacing and upgrading computer parts, however I recently decided to start building my own and the motherboard/processor compatability has driven me insane! So I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if this processor would be compatable with the motherboard.

both are lga775 so should work fine.

just the compatability on the mobo said "p4 ht" and i assumed ht on that stood for hyperthreading ^^

yes but im building from scratch and that is just the motherboard i chose and its not from a previous computer. or would i still need a Bios update?

UltimoAviso, most of the time any Motherboard will come with a BIOS that was current when the MB was first built and will need to an update to make any system top of the line with newer equipment.
