i have a wireless network and i'm manually assigning connection settings on my computers. I know what IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway are..those are easily found in ipconfig...but what is the DNS server number?

by the way I have windows XP professional

If you are using a home router, then you can put that as the DNS server, that is DNS=gateway.

"ipconfig /all" will tell you the current DNS configuration BTW.

You can also log into the router and check the WAN status to find your ISP's DNS IP's and plug those into your computers DNS settings.
