Well,

I'm buying a new video card. Currently I have a Sapphire 9600 128MB, but its fried!

So, I'm asking, can someone, please, refer to me, with professional help, which is better:

ASUS N6800XT/TD128, AGPX8, 128MB DDR, 256-Bit (Core/Memory Clock : 300/700 MHz)
OR
ASUS N6600GT/TD128, AGPX8, 128MB DDR3, 128-Bit (Core/Memory Clock : 500/1.0GHz)

My System Stats are the following:

Asus K8N-E Deluxe
AMD Athlon64 3400+
Crucial 1GB DDR, 3200 (400Mhz)
Sapphire 9600 128MB
WD Caviar 80GB
Maxtor 40GB

Thanks Guys!

Tough call here I'd say.

I'd say the 6600GT would be faster at lower screen settings, but if you (like I do) play at 1280x1024 I think the 6800XT would start performing better as it is a 256bit interface.

Then again, the 6600GT is DDR3 and the 6800XT is only DDR1...

I think I'd go 6800XT. Final answer. ;)

p.s., if you have the cash, the 6800GS would be a HUGE upgrade over and above the above mentioned. HUGE.

Thanks for the help.

I will probably buy the Asus 6800XT.

But your second mention was buying the 6800GT, unfortunately, i have no cash for it.

But thanks for the help, again!
