hi, im having trouble getting my motherboards onboard sound to play in four channel mode. the problem is with the mixer software which won't install properly. ive tried the nvswap program and all of the speakers produce noise so the inputs are all working as far as i can see.
anyone had this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it?
    much appreciated,
    Richard.

The a7n8x-x doesn't have the onboard SoundStorm but nVidia nForce 3.13 drivers are supposed to support the Realtek codec used on that board. Which version of the drivers are you trying to install ?

i was trying to use the nvidia ones but now i have the realtek installed and the control panel is installed now.
however the sound still only comes through the two front speakers, when i do the test the sound for the 2 rear speakers comes through the front left but much quieter than when i test the front speaker.
    any ideas?
    cheers

What set of speakers is it & how are they connected to the sound card ?

they are creative 4.1 speakers which connect via 2 inputs (1 for front 1 for rear)
