  1. My buddy has a Asus - P4G8X mobo(533fsb) he's got a 3.06 p4 (800fsb) in it and the bio's is only letting him set it to 1500, when it post it reads 1500 as well, what would cause this to read this at only 1500 (1.5gig) i didn't think the FSB would cause it...Any help?

    Thx a ton

multiplier or the fsb could be set wrong. check in the BIOS to see what they're set at. i suggest getting a motherboard that supports his 800fsb or he wont be able to utilize the full potential of the processor. or, try checking for a BIOS update that would allow the 800fsb. if there isnt one then a new board would fix it.

The P4G8X is based on the Granite Bay chipset meant for P4 with a 100/133 FSB. It is not meant to be used with 200FSB P4s.

As for the 3.06GHZ P4, it only exists with a 133FSB. There's a P4C 3GHZ with a 200FSB though & it would seem that it's the one you have. 3GHZ = 15 * 200 & it would seem the board is only letting you set the FSB to 100.

Make things easy for yourself & get another board based either on the i865 ( Springdale ) or i875 ( Canterwood ) chipsets.
