I've been building up an older computer and it needs a new processor. The one it has is a AMD Duron 1.3 GHz that is placed in a socket "A" 462 processor slot. I recently added a new PSU so it should be fine for power, I just need a new processor. Would a AM2 processor slot be the same as a A slot? Or would I have to find just an A processor?
The motherboard it is going into will be a Asus A7n266-vm. Its an older Mobo.

Only a socket A processor will work in a socket A board. AM2 is completely incompatible.
