Can anyone tell me what the latest drivers for this card are? The ones I have installed are from 2005 i think. I went to the site and it lists the download "installation verification software. and the description says "Validation utility to determine if Catalyst Mobility™ is compatible with your system and download the driver." Now whenever i try to download and run it it tells me that i dont have the right hardware or something. Am i doing something wrong?

    No you're not wrong.
Some laptop brand does not able to pass the verification check given by ATI website.
However, i'm sure that as long as you got the graphic card alright, it should works perfectly.
(cause it does to my MR9700)
Yes, you're eligible of getting the full copy of Ati Catalyst Mobility since you have ATI MR X300 card.
It's just the matter where you're going to get it... ;)

Getting to the point, i should say that there's two way of getting ATI Catalyst Mobility, which is:
~Patch your ATI driver with Mobility Modder from DriverHeaven.
    http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/
and then download the verification software from ATI website.

    or

~Skip the validation and use the full installation pack from another source. like Softpedia.
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/ATI/ATI-Catalyst-Mobility-74.shtml

Personally i recommend using the pack using ati catalyst mobility 7.4 from softpedia. Good Luck :)
