Thanks for all the input though.

    Bad choice.

Should have gotten a 9500 Pro.

You got any valid reason for that opinion, Like Q3 or U2 frame
rates or some other realworld stats?
This is not a loaded question... I just cant find any.
It's always an overclocked something against some other
"faster" whatsit so the figures don't end up meaning a whole
    lot.
I ended up using the ABIT version of this card in my rig.... and
figured it was pretty good for the money.

The 9000 is just a re-designed cost reduced 8500 core, and so runs slightly slower than a real 8500, but probably the same speed as an 8500LE.

Actully, it's not missing anything, just lower clocks than a "retail" R8500.:)

hey, i'm very curious as to your mod on that card. i ahve the same one and am looking to reduce noise in my system. right now, the fan on my 8500le is causing the most noise. can you tell me how easy/difficult it was to remove and fit a bigger fan on there?

also, how can you check the temps on the core and the memory?
thanks for any feedback, if i can quiet this awful whine my system will be near silent! arigatoo

If you like nice Image Quality then the 9500 Pro craps on the GF4 Ti cards when you turn on antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. Just makes things look damned sweet. Apart from that their isn't much between them in most benchmarks.

You might have a little problem since I don't know many R8500 cards that had mounting holes around the core.:dead:

hmmm... that would be unfortunate. a review i read about it mentioned compatible with 8500,, anyone out there try one of these with an 8500le?
