ati radeon 9600 xt (256mb ddr) trouble shooting in games

    i have just installed brandnew radeon 9600 xt. all is running fine in windows and all programs. but when i go to play soldier of fortune 2-multiplayer and join a server, the game totally freezes forcing me to reboot via the case button.this has only just start to happen after the install of new card.i also noticed that at boot up just as the desktop is loading up my computer beeps.
    this is weird because i have doom3 and i can run that on high graphics, 50fps.

    it might be because i havent installed the drivers correctly. but iam not sure.

    i would make shore it is seated propibly and try downloading the newest driver firm ati, and what are your system specs.

    Download v1.03 patch for Soldier of fortune. It looks like there were some GC compatibility problems with the earlier versions
