    i have a dell 2650 and i had to enter safe mode to disable my audio control
    82801ca/cam/ac'97 audio control because it freezes my computer if i enable
    it not sure how to fix this problem i run xp professional also reinstalled and sound worked after installation but froze on restart any advice thanks.

    When you first turn on your pc you should see something like push Delete to enter setup or BIOS. do that and search to disable the onboard sounds card. If you want to buy a new sound card look at this Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme $49
