Hello I have a problem with the automatic updates

I tells me i need to install a net framework 1.1 update. Recently i reformated my computer. I also looked in add/remove programs to try to uninstall it and it could not find it, and i currently use 2.0 what would i do. If i should uninstall it how would i do that?

    Thanks

P.S. I keep getting a system restore error message when i got o system restore I says System Restore is unable to protect your computer. Please restart your computer and Start System restore again.

OK i went to do that and that option was not there so i went to view system info to go to it that way and it crashed saying runndll32 as an app and it closed it down.

Just try this for starters, sfc /scannow

Click Here just go to the part where it says how to use sfc you may need your XP disc.

After trying this you may need to run the recovery console.
