Average heat on a GPU

  1. Hi all I was just wondering what the safe operating temp. on a video card under load with the higher end games and video cards. thanks!

    That depends on the GPU and the cooling methods used.

    If you are looking for comparison figures, it would be helpful if you provided us with the GPU specifications in your machine.

    this is my system specs. xfx 7970 black edition DD stock oc, i5-3570k at 4.2ghz, zalman 9700 heatsink, 16gb 2133mhz oc ram, xfx 1050w PSU, MSi z77-GD65 board. CPU at idle is around 42c, and GPU at idle is 32c. underload in WoW on ultra the Cpu is around 50c and the Gpu is around 60c. is just wondering if that good, decent or terrible lol thanks!

    Those are good temps.

    I personally wouldn't worry to much unless the CPU goes upto 70C and the GPU upto 90C.

    60C is very good, although the 7970 is probably not under full load when playing WoW.
