AVG 7.5, Security Shield, or Bit Defender?

Trying to find the best (and user friendly) security suite for friends
of mine that are not very computer literate and that have been
absolutely hammered with all kinds of malware over their dial-up.
I got their computer cleaned up with a reformat and reinstall, and
scans with AVG suite and a number of others (as per the list in
this forum) don't show up any problems, so hopefully starting over
    clean.

I have used AVG 7.5 for sometime on my own computer, along with
Zone Alarm, pretty successfully. I've read that the AVG firewall is
somewhat lacking, so also am using Zone Alarm which seems to be
    doing a good job.

Reading some different reviews online, I find that Security Shield
and Bit Defender are very highly rated, seemingly higher than AVG?

Bit Defender has rootkit tools (like Security Shield), hourly updates,
and drag and drop instant scanning which sounds good, plus is
reportedly user friendly. Although it takes more system resources,
that isn't a problem in this particular instance.

Any experiences, comparisons, preferences? And, of course, why?
    OR other recommendations.

    Thanks!

anybody tried or know about these esp the Bit Defender and Security Shield?

I have no experience of Security Shield or Bit Defender, but have heard some good things about them. Like you, I`ve always used AVG free and Zonealarm and have never had any problems whatsoever.
