  1. Hello, I'm new to this site, I just found it and wondered if anyone knew how to solve this problem I'm having with my laptop, as I'm at a dead end!

    Basically it's a Dell laptop, when I turn it one it comes up with the Dell screen for a second, then the Windows XP screen, then it goes to a blue screen with the words

    'STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}
    The image shell32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.'

    And I can't get past that, the screen just stays like that and I can't change it.

    If anyone could help I'd be extremely grateful!

    I've tried that, but it keeps coming up with the same message as before.
