So I have a Belkin N1 Wireless USB Adapter Card that was working fine until it broke. My brother has the same type that he uses for his old computer that I stole. Whenever I plug it in it says I don't have the proper drivers for the device. I thought this was weirs because it's the same model card and everything. I went online re downloaded the drivers and when the process told me to plug in the card it does not recognize it. I don't know what the problem is with the device. It works fine on my brothers computer and the device is recognized by my computer...just not as an internet card. What is the problem? Does it have to do with the drivers, the device, or my computer?

1. There should be a tag on the router. What's it say is the model number?

2. When you connect/ disconnect the USB adapter, do you hear the Windows USB ding/dong sound as you plug in and remove the device?

3. Connect the device.
  • Make sure all your devices are connected and powered on
  • Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
  • Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
  • If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
