I just bought a laptop with an internal Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card.

Is this compatible with a Belkin Wireless G router? or should I purchase the Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card also.

yep. the standard for wifi is (commonly now) is 802.11g. G is mostly backwards compatible (i think, need to confirm this). buying another adaptor when you already have one is kinda a waste of money, unless you plan on using it for a different machine.... just get the router, set the configuration etc and it should all go well..
