Hi, I have been trying to open/download files. Everytime I go to open something, a message will pop up saying,

Paint cannot read this file
This is not a valid Bitmap File, or its format is not currently supported

I can't figure out why everything is trying to open through the pain program. Thanks for any help!!

Not sure if you mean the web your browser is doing this or you referring to files on the hard drive. You might want to try resetting windows default image viewer. If you google "reset windows default image viewer" you will find plenty of solutions.

You will probably be better of by right clicking the image you want to view and selecting "open with" then check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". This is also the case in your web browser (Firefox anyway) I hope this helps.
