Black screen and can't get into safe mode

I recently looked at my friends computer and can not find out why its doing what its doing. As soon as the PC loads into winddows(where the big logo shows up) it goes to a black screen. When I try going into safe mode it loads most of the drivers and then stops. Any feedback would be greatly appriciated.
