Hi, the minidump shows a couple of things. First you are still running on SP2, why is that? Microsoft no longer give security updates for SP2 so your system is vulnerable to attack when on-line. Get the SP3 update from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389 and make sure Windows Update is left switched on.

The crash blames atapi.sys which is related to the hard drive controllers. Follow this guide to test your hard drive and report back with the results.

Identify the make of your hard drive and then use one of the links below to get the manufacturers diagnostic for ISO CD. Burn the image file to a CD, boot the PC with the disc in the drive and run the diagnostics. You first need to set the CD drive to 1st in the boot order in the Bios setup.

If you do not have an image burner use this free software to make the CD.

If you have a Toshiba hard drive I would suggest the use of the diagnostics from the Seagate link as this will work on all makes of drive and on any OS.

Hi, I am using two harddrives of maxtor, please give me the direct link to download as I am not an expert....

I also want to add one thing that my PC also produces sound like tuc...tuc...tuc...
something like this and then most probably it hangs and gives blue screen and restarts....

Just click on the link next to Seagate, Maxtor &Quantom.

That sound is probably the hard drive, run the test and see what the result is.

That is where it should take you. Look on the page for a picture with Seatools written under it, click on that and on the next page click on Seatools for Dos. Then you will see on the next page a yellow arrow with Download SeaTools for DOS written next to it, click on that and save it to your desktop.

Then when downloaded to your desktop follow the instruction I gave above to burn the ISO to a CD. Use the isoimageburner I gave the link for.
