Blue screen, NOT BSOD

I apologize for the length of time this has taken, but as I've said, I have zero knowledge of what I'm doing. As stated, I have the zipped memtest file on a cd in cd drive. What I'm understanding is I'm to UNzip it to the harddrive so ok, I'll put it in a folder then I go into bios & make sure it boots from the cd, save & exit & reboot & it should do its thing ???

Ok, I'm confused. Which version did you download? Sounds like you have access to a CD burner, so follow Leeky's post (#5), and burn the iso to a CD. Then boot from the CD.

I'm confused as well. Since my previous post, I saved the file to a cd & extracted it to a folder on my desktop & then booted into BIOS & set it to boot from cd & saved it. It then booted up normally so I'm guessing I reboot & it'll boot from the cd & run the test?? I sure hope so cuz I want to get this done.

There are 2 versions available for download, a bootable CD and a bootable USB. I assumed after post #6 you went ahead and got the USB version, since you mentioned not having CD-R/RW.

But since you have CD-R/RW, download the iso version and follow Leeky's instructions per post #5 or read the readme file in the zip file.

Be easier to use Windows 7's iso burner. Right click on the iso file, click Open With, select Windows Disc Image Burner. The CD drive should already be listed. Whether the box next to Verify Disc is checked or not is optional. Make sure a CD-R/RW is in the drive. Click burn. Can't get any easier.

If you are using a CD, you need to using disc burning software to "burn" the .ISO file to the disc. You don't copy the file over to it, that won't work.

Ok, I think I've successfully got the USB bootable according to the readme thing I was told to read. I will go into BIOS around noon to make/save changes & cross my fingers hoping it works.

Since nothing has worked for me, I re ran the windows memory scan previously posted & it showed nothing wrong. So I'm confused & lost. :(

I think I did that successfully. Now my damn cd isn't working .

Isn't working as in not booting from the CD? If the order in BIOS is same as the picture in post #26, then it'll try to boot from the HDD 1st. Need to swap order of HDD and CD-ROM.

Ok, I'm going to try to start over. I just saved the memtest to a cd I think it is so I'm going to "TRY" do get this damn thing done tonight. Cross fingers :)

Even after doing post #41, still nothing. I thank the helpers for their patience, I have no idea what could be wrong but or what I'm doing wrong.
