Is Windows 7 updates to SP1 and beyond including all the optional updates. Do you see any yellow exclamation points in the device manger? Was another version of Windows installed on this computer first? Do you have daemon tools installed?

thanx for the reply Tmagic650
yes it has daemon tools installed. no its a brand new laptop only 3 months old so no other windows was installed on it. no there are no exclaimation point on devices. yes they are up to date.
