Boot Failure

Hello, i have been having boot failure for acouple days now.
When i turn on my computer the first thing that pops up is usualy the following
(press f10 for this and f11 for that)
blah blah blah detected
blah detechted
something else detect

and so on but now when i boot i get the press f10 for boot menu and that stuff as normal but everything says not detected, my cd drive is not working i have read many many articals here and else where, can someone please help? it would be much appreciated
 
Here is some mor einformation

I did the boot options and i have no boot options other then from a floppy
Primary Master and slave are not detected
secondary master and slave are not detected
I also cannot find my windows xp home edition disk
 
hmmmm.

First of all go into your BIOS and check that your HDD are activated and the boot order is correct. If the settings are correct it could be a couple of things. The fact that the HDD's are not being detected tells me that either the HDD's are not powered or that the information isnt being received from the HDD's. The solutions for these examples would be a new power supply or IDE/sata cables (respectively). A more serious problem could be that your motherboard is kaputt.
