Boot keeps changing

I have had 2 sata hard drives for some time now. I recently added 2 ide drives.

Everytime I re boot I have to change the first boot back to the sata drive. How can a make this stay?

So you have 4 hard drives
And likely minimum 1 DVD drive
And I think you mentioned on another thread you are running Striped or Mirror Raid Array

Is that correct?
Because if so, I think you may be going a little over-board.
You do know that most users just have 1 hard drive

Anyway, yes you could be getting conflicts with your drives (5 of them) and your motherboard chipset, who knows.
But the answer is to run the same manufacture and connection (ideally Sata) on multiple hard drives, especially if using Raid

I took out one of the ide drives and left one as primary slave, my dvd burner is on secondary slave, so far 3 boots have been ok. If this doesn't work, I think I will just need to get two bigger sata drives and mirror them and forget the ide drives. Thank you for your reply
