Booting problem Windows XP/Windows 7

i have installed windows 7 in an another drive in addition to my original os windows xp, for some reasons the installation process is not successful.
i formatted the drive where windows 7 installed. but there is a option in the boot menu to select windows old version or windows 7.i want to boot only my xp only.
please guide me step by step to recover from this problem.

Windows Old Version is your Windows XP installation. If you installed it on a seperate drive it should have no effect on your windows XP installation, how ever, if you installed in on the same drive as your XP, that is different.
