Start at step 4...

For combofix:

Because you didn't find "dwdsregt.exe" these 2 entries, TA-Start and Think Ads are "leftovers" and you have basically cleaned your machine successfully

After you have done all this turn off your Restore Points:

Just for reference Debbie, here are the links for Combofix and Restore Points once again

Okay, I got sidetracked yesterday and didnt get a chance to run Combofix. I did a scan this morning with RemoveIt and 2 things came up. One was twinmlds.exe and the other was winpfz32.sys. RemoveIt advised me to "fix" and that is what I did.

Went to download Combofix and a warning came up the said "publisher is unknown and security cannot be verified". Should I still download it?

I am beginning to understand why this is such a process! I thought it was too easy...lol! Guess that "door" is still opened and the stuff just keeps coming in.

What should I do now?

Yes... Did you disable the restore points. If you didn't, every time you restart your system, the nasties can come back

Yes I went to my system restore and disabled it before Combofix. I will just go ahead and do it. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Debbie

okay, I just ran Combofix. I thought I had disabled everything running but in the middle of the scan my avast popped up and said it found a virus! They were snapsnet.exe & thinksnet.exe. I elected to quarentine them and the combofix scan contined to run. I have attatched the log from combofix. What do you think?

Looks good Debbie,
if your system is running up to speed now, just keep an eye on things. Now you know why I recommend wiping everything and starting fresh... The alternative takes a lot of time and effort. I back up my important stuff to another hard drive

Yeah, learned alot in the process though...lol! So everything has been looking good so far. I keep running my anti virus stuff and nothing is coming up. I'm concerned about the "hole" that might have been left by the trojan. How do I know for sure or is there a way to check?
